FVS & GaVS (Virtual Schools)

To register for an Online Class, students must complete the current Contract for Online Classes, have it signed by the parent/guardian, and submit it to the Counseling Office by the designated deadline. 

* A courses = Semester 1 (Fall), 1/2 credit

  B courses = Semester 2 (Spring), 1/2 credit

  AB courses = Yearlong Course (Fall + Spring combined in one semester), 1 credit

Online courses have specific beginning and ending dates aligned with the school calendar and curriculum. Courses have specific syllabus and students must log-in to work every day. Courses are self-paced. Virtual teachers monitor and evaluate work progress and provide support upon student request.

  • Cost: During the Fall and Spring terms, there is no cost for online courses taken during a student's regular school day. Tuition is charged only if a course is taken in addition to a student's normal course load or if the course is attempted for first-time credit during the summer term.*
    • 1/2 credit = $225 ($180 with free/reduced meal status) per course
    • 1 credit = $450 ($360 with free/reduced meal status) per course

*If a student has previously failed a course and is retaking the course to receive credit, there is no charge during Summer term.

Georgia Virtual School (GaVS)

Online courses have specific beginning and ending dates aligned with the school calendar and curriculum. Courses have specific syllabus and students must log-in to work every day. Courses have weekly deadlines. Virtual teachers monitor and evaluate work progress and provide support upon student request.  

  • Cost: Public local schools will pay tuition and fees for students enrolled in a GaVS course that is part of the student's regular school day.
    • 1/2 credit = $250 per A or B course
    • 1 credit = $500 per AB course
